Marguerite Duras

Marguerite Duras is one of the most important French writers, playwrights, screenwriters, and directors of the second half of the twentieth century. She was born in Indochina, and the marks of the experiences from her colonial childhood are clearly visible in her work. With her innovative vision, she developed a refined and distinctive style that greatly influenced contemporary literature. She has received numerous literary awards. Her work continues to be the subject of study to this day.
