Hergé (real name: Georges Prosper Remi) was a Belgian illustrator and comics creator, best known for his iconic series The Adventures of Tintin (Les Aventures de Tintin). His pen name “Hergé” comes from the reversed initials of his real name (R.G.). Hergé’s style, known as “ligne claire” or “clear line,” had a major impact on European comics. The Adventures of Tintin has been translated into numerous languages and remains one of the most beloved and influential comic series worldwide.
