Julia Weber

Julia Weber is a contemporary Swiss author writing in German. Born in Moshi, Tanzania, she settled in Zurich in 1985. She studied photography and design, then literature at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel (2009–2012). In 2012, she founded Literaturdienst.ch. She is a co-founder of the activist art collective “Literatur für das, was passiert” and the RAUF women's authors' group. She writes for newspapers, theatre, anthologies, and SRF 1 radio. Her debut novel Everything Is Always Magnificent received the Franz Tumler Prize, the Alfred Döblin Medal, and the Konrad Ferdinand Meyer Prize.
