Sylvie Drapeau is a French-Canadian actress and novelist. She graduated from the University of Montreal and the National Theatre School of Canada and has been performing on Québec’s major stages since 1986. Based on her novels (The River, The Sky, Hell, The Earth), she created a play, The River, which was staged with great success at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde. She has acted in 57 stage productions, 11 films, and 6 TV series, and is the author of five novels and three plays. She has received several awards, including Newcomer of the Year (1987–1988) by the Québec Association of Theatre Critics, and two Jutra Award nominations (2002, 2004).
