Irina Labadze is a French language teacher and translator. She graduated from the Ilia Chavchavadze Institute of Foreign Languages in Tbilisi and the Higher School of Interpreters and Translators. As a French teacher, she completed professional training at Paul Valéry University in Montpellier. She has taught in a national boarding school specialized in sports education and at Ilia State University. She served as an examiner for French language proficiency tests organized by the French Embassy in Georgia and as an evaluator for the national exams conducted by the Ministry of Education of Georgia for student and teacher selection. She worked as a translator in technical research institutions and at the Arnold Chikobava Institute of Linguistics of the Georgian Academy of Sciences. She has been awarded the French government’s translation scholarship three times. Since 2004, she has been actively working as a translator. Among her translations from French into Georgian are I Grew Up in Leuville by Rejeb Jordania, Brodeck's Report by Philippe Claudel, Clair de femme by Romain Gary, The Girl Who Was Convinced She Was Matches by Gaétan Soucy, among others.
