Lali Unapkoshvili

Lali Unapkoshvili is a specialist in French language and literature. She graduated from the Faculty of Western European Languages and Literatures at Tbilisi State University. She worked for about thirty years in the Tbilisi City Hall managing relations with Francophone cities. She started her translation career recently. Her first translation was The Shape of the City by Julien Gracq, which received the Literary Prize Litera from the Writers' House of Georgia in the category Best Translation of the Year. In 2020, the French government awarded Lali Unapkoshvili the title of Officer of the Order of Academic Palms for her contribution to Georgian-French cultural relations.
