Tamar Khosruashvili

Tamar Khosruashvili is a translator and library science specialist. She was born in Tbilisi and graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. She also completed advanced translation courses at the Higher School of Translators of Foreign Languages in Moscow, simultaneous interpretation training at the Ilia Chavchavadze Institute of Foreign Languages, library management studies at Paris-Nanterre University, and English language training at the International Language Center in Washington. She has translated and voice-overed more than forty films from French, and for twenty-four years she headed the media library of the French Institute of Georgia. Tamar Khosruashvili translates literary works from both French and English. She is also co-author of a comprehensive three-volume French–Georgian dictionary. In 2019, in recognition of her contribution to the promotion of the French language and culture, the French government awarded her the title of Chevalier of the Order of Academic Palms.
