Pierre Péju is a French novelist, essayist, and philosopher. He is known for his emotionally and philosophically rich novels, often dealing with human suffering, childhood trauma, and the search for identity. His most acclaimed novel, La Petite Chartreuse, has been translated into several languages and has won prestigious awards, including the Prix Renaudot. In addition to writing, Péju teaches philosophy and is actively involved in contemporary literary and intellectual debates. Three of his books are published in Georgian: La Petite Chartreuse, L’Etat du ciel, Enfance obscure.
